Weekly Mixtape 53

Music from the world’s best emerging artists. Songs from Noah Slee, Confessions, Goldensuns, Phondupe, 1991, Fhin, UKF, Tycho, Tender Loving Empire, Tundran, Jack the Fox, Ark Patrol, Kontinuum, Geographer and Run River North.

My favorite this week is Run or Hide by Run River North. Run River North, formerly known as Monsters Calling Home, is a Korean-American indie folk-rock band. The band formed in 2011. Their early works were inspired by the band members’ Asian-American parents. The band performed at venues across Southern California, including Super Concert, the DRIP coffee shop in Los Angeles’ Koreatown, and the Kollaboration 11 competition at the Nokia Theater on December 5, 2011. The band released their self-titled, debut album, “Run River North” on February 25th, 2014.

The cover of this album is by the artist Enrico Robusti. The title of the painting is “Giulietto e Romea”.
